Primrose (Primula vulgaris) Native

Primrose (Primula vulgaris) Native Primroses are common and widespread across Britain and Ireland and never fail to please. They are found in woods, at the base of hedgerows and in grasslands. Primroses look especially lovely in a woodland garden or along a shady bank, and are suitable for most shady garden sites. The Primrose is a small, perennial woodland plant that grows no more than 10cm high and can flower from December through to May. It has wrinkly leaves with hairy undersides that form a rosette at the plant’s base. The flowers are pale to deep yellow with darker yellow-orange centres. The single flowers have five notched petals which form on the ends of upright woolly stalks.
