Osmunda regalis ‘ Purpurascens ‘ ( Purple royal fern )
: Is a large and spectacular fern, ideal for growing at the pond edge or bog garden. Plants form a distinct clump of tall, arching fronds of fresh green divided leaves. The stems and early leaves of Osmunda regalis ‘Purpurascens’ are purplish in colour, with the stems remaining purple throughout the season.
: For best results grow Osmunda regalis ‘Purpurascens’ in moist, preferably acidic soil, in partial shade (full sun is tolerated in cooler regions). Prune out old leaves in late winter.
