Iris Sibirica Kabluey is a marginal plant it has tall stems bearing several beautiful purple lavender flowers which appear June-July it is clump forming and has green foliage.  It prefers a moist soil in sun or partial shade.  It is perfect for bog gardens, moist boarders at the waters edge and can be used in tubs and barrels.

  • It likes moist but not waterlogged soil.
  • Position in full sun to partial shade.
  • Flowers between June and August.
  • Height 85cm (34in)
  • Spread 50cm (20in)
  • Planting  depth 0-5cm (0-2 in) of water above soil.
  • Marginal pond plant (shallow water plant).
  • We would recommend a planting basket of at least 11cm across for one plant or, for more impact, plant several of the same variety in a larger basket.
  • This Iris prefers full sun to partial shade in damp moist areas. You can cut back the flower stem after flowering in the autumn but it is good to leave the old leaves on as they turn brown an this provides the roots with nutrients during the winter.  You can remove this in the spring as the new growth starts to appear.
  • Note – toxic if eaten, May cause skin irritation or allergy
  • We ship all marginal water plants bare root, this means that we wash the soil off before packing plants. During the summer months we may need to trim some of the foliage back for shipping.
