Hosta Summer Lovin medium
Hosta Summer Lovin is a herbaceous perennial and a very elegant plant to have in your garden. A beautiful clump forming medium size Hosta with large green heart shaped leaves with a wonderful creamy/yellow boarder. Hosta’s are beneficial to support and attract wildlife into your garden with the leaves providing cover from the sun. The flowers are a good food source for pollinators.
- This Hosta is useful for underplanting in water gardens, wildlife gardens and woodland gardens and is low maintenance.
- This Hosta is suitable for boarders and will make a lovely addition to your garden.
- Water in well when first planted and establishing.
- This Hosta is suitable for containers and planters but will require additional watering.
- Flowers with wonderful little bell shaped lavender flowers from mid to late summer which are attractive to bee’s and other pollinators.
- Plant in full shade to partial shade (do not place in hot sunny spot) in moist fertile well drained soil water in well when first establishing. Ensure your Hosta has an extra drink in hot dry spells.
- Be aware that Hosta’s are a favourite of slugs so it is worth checking for them in spring.
- Hosta Summer Lovin is a very hardy perennial. Protect in winter remove spent leaves in autumn and after a frost and trim back the foliage to prepare the plant for the winter. You will start to see the new growth in late spring.
- We ship all plants bare root. This means that we wash all the soil off before packing plants. During the summer months we may need to trim some of the foliage back for shipping.
