Description

Stachys officinalis ( Betony ) Native

: Is a bushy perennial bearing delightful purple-red blooms from June to August, which are a magnet for bees and other pollinators. It’s a vigorous grower, thriving in heavy, wet soils, and is ideal for using as a wildflower plant along the pond margin or bog garden , and does as well in sun as in shade.
For best results grow Stachys officinalis in heavy, wet soil in full sun to full shade. Cut back in autumn. It will self-seed readily.
Height  60cm  ( 24 inches )
Spread  20cm  ( 8 inches )

We would recommend a planting basket of at least 11cm across for one plant or, for more impact, plant several of the same variety in a larger basket.

We ship all marginal water plants bare root, this means that we wash the soil off before packing plants. During the summer months we may need to trim some of the foliage back for shipping.
